B.A. (Hons.), Summer Student
phone: (416) 533-0040 ext. 240
Maddie Douglas has joined the bakerlaw team as one of our summer students. Maddie just completed her second year at Western Law.
During law school, Maddie has developed an interest in human-rights issues and advocacy. This January, she participated in the 2021 National Labour Arbitration Moot where she researched and advocated both a union and employer-side family-status discrimination case. It was through this competition that Maddie became interested in advocating for human-rights in the area of labour and employment, an interest which she hopes to pursue this summer.
Prior to law school, Maddie completed her Honours Specialization in Political Science at Western University. Her studies mainly focused on the Charter, Canadian human rights, and international human rights – all of which set the foundation for her study of law and her particular interest in human rights and Charter litigation. It is also what brought her to bakerlaw. We are excited to welcome Maddie for the summer!
When Maddie isn’t busy brushing up on the latest legal developments, she enjoys playing soccer, listening to audiobooks, and stand-up paddle boarding in the many conservation areas around her home in London, Ontario.
