Khalid has recently joined bakerlaw as an articling student for the 2020-2021 year.
Khalid attended Western Law, where he developed his passion for oral advocacy and Canadian human rights law. At the end of his first-year Khalid worked as a research associate at the law school, where his work examined the legal and public health challenges associated with the legalization of recreational cannabis in Canada.
Prior to law school, Khalid completed his Master of Global Affairs (MGA) degree at the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy at the University of Toronto. His graduate research focused on the role of international security institutions in managing global money laundering and terrorism financing risks. It was at the Munk School where Khalid began to develop his interest in social justice and the protection of civil liberties.
When he doesn’t have his nose in caselaw, Khalid enjoys following major league baseball (go Jays go!), swimming and reading British spy novels.
