Luz’s past 45 years encompasses stories about crossing the rivers of life circumstances, getting the marks to get higher education, puffing her way to exciting work experiences, and then realizing that great opportunities are always available for people who truly understand that we all share a common humanity.
Luz grew up in Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya, 268 kilometres north of the Philippine capital of Manila.

In 1986, she completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication at the University of Santo Tomas. Since completing her degree, she has worked as a Community Relations and Advertising officer, a News Reporter and an Executive Assistant to the Press Secretary of the President of the Philippines. For the last nine years she has been employed in the legal support profession.

Working on the front line of public and community service became more meaningful for Luz as she moved to the legal field. She takes pride in being able to assist lawyers in managing their files as they advocate for their clients’ best interests and in obtaining broader systemic changes for those with disabilities. Her experience includes trial preparation, accident benefit file documentation, court filings, legal research, motions drafting and client intakes.

Outside work, Luz is a mother who is active in her church ministry, as a school alumni officer, and as an accomplished cook.
