Human rights

The Ontario Human Rights Code protects individuals from discrimination and harassment in the private sector based on race, ancestry, place of origin, colour, ethnic origin, citizenship, creed, sex, sexual orientation, age, record of offences, marital status, same-sex partnership status, family status or disability.

Individuals are entitled to equal treatment when at work or school and while accessing a range of private sector services, such as transportation and accommodation. Bakerlaw represents individuals with human rights complaints at the Ontario Human Rights Commission, the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario, the Canadian Human Rights Commission and the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal.
